(Peachtree City) – The race for Georgia's next Insurance Commissioner is down to two candidates, and Monday former Peachtree City Mayor Harold Logsdon, once himself a candidate for the position, threw his support to State Senator Ralph Hudgens.
"For more than I year, I campaigned to be Georgia's next Insurance Commissioner," said Logsdon, who pulled out of the race in April after a diagnosis of prostate cancer. "While I am disappointed that I was not able to stay in the race, I came to know the other candidates in the race, and am pleased to throw my support to Sen. Hudgens in the Aug. 10 run-off."
"It is important for Georgia to elect an Insurance Commissioner who can hit the ground running, and with Ralph's experience in the State Senate as the Chair of the Senate Insurance Commission, he has the knowledge of the office and the industry," Logsdon added.
"Ralph is a conservative Republican, who would bring those strong conservative beliefs to the office. Georgia Republicans must maintain this office for another four years, and Sen. Hudgens would provide the leadership Georgia needs in these challenging times."
"I am pleased to endorse and support to Ralph Hudgens, and ask you to do the same in the Aug. 10 runoff."
