This very important position affects the lives of all Georgians every day. It not only regulates the insurance industry to make sure that Georgia consumers are treated fairly, but it also has jurisdiction over fire safety, oversees the small loan industry for compliance with State law, inspects mobile home manufacturing for safety, ensures safety at race tracks, and serves as Georgia’s Comptroller General. You need an experienced individual in this office and I have that necessary experience.

I have administered a large government agency as the State Executive Director of ASCS in the US Department of Agriculture during the first Bush Administration. I am the owner or co-owner of four small businesses. I have been in Georgia’s General Assembly for 13 years and am the current Chairman of the Insurance Committee in the State Senate. I am involved on a national basis with the National Conference of Insurance Legislators, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact.
